Feed and Grain
Screw conveyors are used in many areas including truck or rail car dump systems and for elevating material to top of storage bins. Paddle screws are used to mix product streams, press screws are used for mechanical moisture removal, etc.
Stainless steel screw conveyors and mixers are sed for all types of food handling. This is an ideal application because they can be fully enclosed and manufactured to meet FDA and USDA standards.
Screw conveyors/mixers are used for handling all types of bulk, granular chemicals. They are a good fit since they enclose the materials and prevent contamination. Corrosion resistant stainless steels are often required.
Screw conveyors and screw feeders are used in dry mills for whole corn unloading, conveying ground meal, wet cake, DDGS, etc. Wet mills also use screw conveyors and mixers with germ, starch, fiber and gluten.
Screw conveyors are used for grain and hops conveying and storage. Special leveling screws can improve storage capacity and efficiency.
Pulp and Paper
Screw presses, mixers and screw conveyors are used for handling paper pulp, wood waste, sawdust, bark chips, wood chips and lime. Mass-flow hoppers and feeder screws are often required.
Mining and Power Production
Screws are used for feeding, conveying, mixing and blending salt, coal, lime and other materials. Hollow flight screws and jacketed troughs are often used to cool fly ash after coal is burned. Corrosive salts and wet coal typically require stainless steel materials.
Meat Processing / Rendering
Stainless steel screw conveyors are used for all material handling. This is an ideal application because the product is contained and equipment can be easily washed down.
Screw conveyors are used to move both wet and dry sugar products throughout the plant. Large screw presses are used to squeeze juice from sliced sugar beets.
Post separation from liquids, solids are often conveyed using shaftless 304SS screws which are a very good fit for sticky, gritty, wet materials. Inclined screw conveyors are also often employed to move materials to elevated areas.
We have designated areas of our plant for the productions of high quality, 3-A sanitary screw conveyors and mixers for the dairy industry. We also employ even higher QC inspection standards for this type of equipment.
Ice, pharmaceuticals, abrasives, contaminated soil, sand, cement, cottonseed, hay, and rice are just a few of the many other products that we have designed screw conveyors and mixers to handle.
